For me with wedding photography the main subject I try to capture is the emotion in the moments,  when the father gives away the bride a mother and son dance or the couple’s first look at each other.  There are many moments during the wedding experience that make for great photography but you really have to be on the ball to capture those special moments !!

During a recent wedding here in Madison Indiana, it was just this emotion I was looking for in a wedding shot, I captured many wonderful images but it was one for me that really stood out.

With this image of the newlyweds first dance I tried to capture the emotion as it presented itself to me, many times it is a laugh or maybe a tear but with this couple it was certainly obvious that bliss was the emotion that I was after. With the emotion in the shot I felt that a black and white conversion was the only way to go with this image as well.

So when you are photographing a wedding definitely look for those special moments and the emotion that goes along with it, thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my photography !!

Back to Senior Photography and what I think is a especially cool image. I captured this one in the middle of the main street that runs thru Madison Indiana, the clouds were really dramatic that day and with this young mans James Dean look it all came together for a special image !!

I love being able to work with these young people  to create special moments for their  Senior session,  many photographers just shoot and don’t take the time to visualize the finished product, and I think that is a disservice  to the clients !!

I hope you enjoy my work and thanks for taking the time stop by and take a look!!

I thought I might shift away from the Senior Photography for a moment and post one of my  favorite wedding images I captured last fall.  I got this image last fall just outside of Vevay Indiana just upriver from Madison, it is a very rural and beautiful part of the state.  The newlyweds had a vintage truck they wanted to incorporate with their shoot and I was eager to comply with their wishes.

We set out just driving the back-roads that lined the area they lived and stopped wherever we felt like a good shot could be created. This image really stood out to me for emotion and originality and after viewing all the images we agreed that it stood out and needed to be printed big !!!

I hope you enjoy the shot and thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my photography !!

I am on a roll with catching up on my blog posts this year, probably doesn’t hurt I have been stuck indoors now for the last couple of months as well lol !!

This session happened to be with the daughter of wonderful childhood friend of mine so I really wanted to make sure that we hit a home run with these shots,  and I think from their reaction to viewing them we got that accomplished.

This young lady was a natural and arrived knowing exactly what she wanted in her shoot, she had all her poses down and that made the session a very easy one to shoot, it’s also a plus working with great people who you have known for years as well.

It really makes a photographer’s life easy when you work with such great people and you also get to practice your photography in such a wonderful place like Madison Indiana, thanks for stopping by and taking a look !!

I thought I might share a couple more photo’s from my Senior Photography session I did after the snowstorm we had Monday. I might be tiring of all the snow and cold we are having this winter but I never get tired getting these great shots from the wonderful models we have here in Madison.

The last session was shot at the old railroad switch yard so this time we walked around downtown Madison Indiana thru all of the old allies and all the other great spots you can find here. Madison is truly a photographers delight with all the Historic structures and beautiful brick architecture that graces my hometown.

It is always a treat working with all the young people who live in the Southern Indiana and Northern Kentucky area and I am really looking forward to a busy late Senior 2014 season and then it’s on to the 2015 class !!
